About Me

Welcome, I’m Katherine Welker

LMFT #115987

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and proud graduate of California, State University Fresno.

I started my career in crisis intervention as a Lead Clinician in Wraparound Services in San Jose, CA, supporting teens in Foster Care and on Probation. From there, I transitioned to a role as an Adolescent Family Therapist and Parent Support Group Leader in a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program in Chicago, IL. And eventually I moved back to my Fresno, CA roots and settled into Private Practice.

Establishing my own practice has allowed me to dedicate my efforts to what truly inspires me: assisting individuals in managing stress and anxiety while fostering deeper connections with themselves and others through a holistic approach.

In my work, I’ve discovered stress is truly a universal experience, yet each person copes with it in their own distinct way. In my therapeutic role, I have had the privilege of assisting a diverse range of individuals, including athletes, lawyers, artists, recovering addicts, sales professionals, new parents, college students, and teenagers navigating transitions.

I am genuinely committed to the people I work with. Witnessing my patients transform fills me with immense pride. When my patients achieve meaningful breakthroughs and insights, it actually gives me goosebumps, reinforcing my belief in their potential. Supporting my patients in their quest to become their best selves is not just a job to me; it is a profound honor.

My Background

I believe in creating a flexible mindset it will give space for growth and self-confidence to flourish.

I have an extensive counseling background in supporting patients with a variety of needs and coexisting issues. My areas of speciality focus include stress and anxiety as well as utilizing my Sport Psychology training and Integral Breath Therapy (IBT; Breathwork) certification.

With my unique background, I strive to provide information on the mind and body functions in order to increase self-awareness about the underlying reasons for their actions.

As your therapist, I will create a place that feels collaborative and safe. I will empower you to commit to goals that support you in establishing and maintaining success in life. I will teach you the skills you need to overcome negative thinking patterns and change behaviors that aren’t serving you.

Together, we will establish a strong partnership as we work towards helping you take back control of your life. I look forward to working beside you as you grow into who you’re meant to be.

“Katherine creates a comforting, nonjudgmental, and safe environment during sessions. She is flexible, easy to talk to, and has taught me many techniques to manage and cope with my anxiety, depression and other struggles.”
